Supporting Physician Well-Being in Palm Beach County
Medicine is one of the most demanding professions — the emotional intensity, long hours, high-stakes decisions and constant pressure make it all too easy for physicians to experience burnout, disengagement, depression, or worse. Recognizing this reality, PBCMS offers a confidential and accessible wellness program designed exclusively for our physician members.
What We Offer
As a member of PBCMS, you are eligible for six complimentary, confidential counseling sessions during the calendar year through the Physician Wellness Program (PWP). This self-referred service is designed to help you be proactive — rather than waiting until a crisis — to address the unique pressures of medical practice and preserve your personal and professional well-being.
Confidentiality and Access
- All participating psychologists and licensed mental-health counselors have been carefully vetted by PBCMS.
- Sessions are designed for physicians (and their families where applicable) and available at times and locations that work with a physician’s lifestyle.
- No insurance is billed and PBCMS receives no identifying information about members using the program — your privacy is strictly protected.
- PBCMS pays only the aggregate cost of sessions — the specific usage is entirely private.
Who Can Use the Program
If you are a PBCMS member and feel the stresses of practice affecting your life or work — or even if you simply want to engage support proactively — you are eligible. When contacting the office to schedule, please identify yourself as a PBCMS member so you can be connected with a counselor quickly and efficiently.
