2021 James J. Byrnes, MD Virtual Poster Showcase Poster Request
Rules and Guidelines for Abstract Submission Eligibility: Applicant must be a member of PBCMS. If applicant is not a member at the time of submission, membership must be completed before April 2, 2021 or the entry will be inadmissible. Applicant must be a student enrolled in a Florida allopathic or osteopathic medical school, a resident or fellow in an accredited training program in Palm Beach County. Poster may be original or previously published. Criteria for Selection: Research abstracts should contain the background, research question, protocol, methods, results and conclusions. The research can be either basic science or clinical research. Clinical vignettes should be pertinent and timely. Notification by e-mail of abstract application acceptance or rejection will be sent via email by March 19, 2021. Content and Ethical Considerations: Posters are intended to convey a scientific result and may not contain advertisements for commercial interests, products or services. Please read and complete the attached Disclosure Form. The Palm Beach County Executive Committee and the Council on Medical Education make the final decisions on eligibility. PBCMS reserves the right to deny any application that, in the opinion of the Executive Committee or the Council on Medical Education, deemed promotional, commercial or unethical. Photos must be 2560 x1920. Oral presentations are to be emailed to [email protected],org by You Tube video link by 5:00 pm on Friday, April 2, 2021. Video should be 3 to 5 minutes. How to upload video to You TubeVideo Suggestions Keep in mind that your audience may have no prior knowledge of your topic. Before discussing detailed findings, situate your research within some broader context and identify early-on the research question or problem that your project aims to address (as appropriate). In order to make the virtual environment as effective and productive as possible, you may use any functions available within PowerPoint Video recording when preparing your presentation. This includes the option to use the zoom-in feature to ensure your poster is most readable and visible (see below for Microsoft PowerPoint instructions on the zoom feature). These added features are not required in anyway. This is simply to allow participants to decide what is best for them.
